Why I’ll never email you from 9 to 5

(and why you should take a second to read the ones I send)

What Happened Last Black Friday

A local manufacturer in Chicago took me up on an offer—they needed help prepping for Black Friday. Not for data analysis, but something simpler: more hours in the day.

  • The owner wore 9 hats (we counted together).
  • On Monday, November 25th, I joined them at their headquarters to lend a hand.

The Challenge

This wasn’t my first time working with a busy CEO. But this was different:

  • Understaffed by 2 employees in their warehouse.
  • The CEO was in the trenches, moving product instead of strategizing.
  • Their plan for Black Friday sales? A blanket 20% discount—leaving significant revenue on the table (revenue that could be used to hire those needed employees!!!)

Why? They were so tied up in operations that there was no time for strategy. It’s a vicious cycle.

What I Did

  • I staged products, organized their warehouse management system, and prepped for orders that would come pouring in on Friday.
  • At this point, the CEO’s time was clearly needed in the warehouse. They operated cruise control.
  • But while they were getting s#!t done, I was making s#!t happen.

While they were grinding, I created a full marketing strategy in just two days before the sale. And their revenue is spiking.

The Takeaway: Your Time Is Invaluable

I understand your reality:

  • Pulled in a million directions.
  • Putting out fires daily.
  • Struggling to find time for big-picture strategy.
  • Everyone at the company focused on operations. “Free time” leftover can be used for strategy. Only, that… there’s never any free time.

Here’s my promise:

  • Value-driven emails: Clear, actionable insights you can read when it suits you
  • Respecting your time: I’ll send these during your “strategy time”—the quiet moments when you can focus on growth (NOT during the 9 to 5 when you are heads-down grinding to get the orders out).

Let me help you move from “getting things done” to “making things happen.”
